A Data Analyst is responsible for providing data analysis for a particular organisation or company. Depending on the particular industry, the role of data analyst is typically part of a data-focused team of analysts with quality data to extract from the company data warehouse to analyse.
As such, the essential skills required for this type of role includes, but not limited to:
- Accurate data entry into the Database
- Perform data validation checks
- Manage the portfolio of reports
- Strong data analysis and data-cleansing experience
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and information
- Experience generating, analysing and creating reports using Excel/Access
- Some experience of programming in Access Experience in data manipulation
- Some experience on SQL Server
Requirements for this role can vary from industry to industry with some demanding at least five years of commercial experience or a degree in: IT, Economics, Business, Statistics or Econometrics.
Other desirable attributes include:
- Strong SQL skills essential
- Database design and modeling experience
- VBA desirable
