A hepatologist is a specialist in the branch of medicine concerned with the liver and will also treat and manage disorders associated with the gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas.
The most common medical conditions a hepatologist has to deal with are:
* Hepatitis
* Inflammatory liver disease
* Vascular liver disorders
* Liver cirrhosis
* Liver failure
* Oesophageal varices
* Biliary disorders
* Pancreatitis
* Primary sclerosing cholangitis
