Are you a clubber/raver/festival goer?
Interested in the facts about drugs and drug use?
Have you ever wondered about the effects that drugs can have? Ever been in a situation where someone on drugs chucked it and you weren’t sure what to do?
Then you might be interested in KIS…..
We at KIS are a team of concerned and motivated individuals who go to clubs, raves and events around Sydney to educate the masses with myth busting, credible information and harm prevention tips for those who use, have used or are thinking of using drugs that are commonly consumed by party people. We also provide information on all of the services/options available to anyone who may be experiencing problems with their use.
KIS peers don’t tell people what they should or shouldn’t be doing. We make no judgments on the lifestyle of others. We want to stimulate discussion and pass on quality information to those who are interested ….and most people are interested!
The Keep It Simple peer education project, based in Manly, has been operating in Sydney for two years. We just won a National Drug and Alcohol Award for the work we do. It’s time to recruit more young people from clubland who can tick most of these boxes
What you will gain from the project is a lot of new skills, and comprehensive drug training with a group of like-minded people. We will pay for expenses incurred during training and the club interventions, like travel and food. Volunteering on a project like this looks great on the CV and you never can tell what direction an opportunity like this can take you.
• Are 18-25 years old
• Have good communication skills
• Can come to Manly for training & monthly meetings
• Have some weekends spare to go out to events to talk to others
• Are interested in free drug education training that also focuses on mental health and sexual health issues
• Maybe have some artistic or other creative talents or ideas on ways of engaging their peers about drug issues i.e. photography, design, web skills
• Want to be a voice for the dance community on drug related issues

James An College is seeking an English teacher for 2 days per week (6.5 hours). Wednesday – 4:30pm – 8pm, Saturday 1pm – 4pm.
Wage is minimum $25 per hour depending on experience

The ideal candidate should:
• Be reliable, responsible and honest
• Be able to work without supervision
• Love plants
• Know a weed from a plant.
• Have own transport
