In order to practice as a certified and registered pharmacist in Australia, one must undertake university study in Bachelor of Pharmacy (or similar) to obtain the core skills and knowledge required for effective delivery of pharmaceutical care and the ability to proceed to research. Generally speaking, the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree requires four years of full time study for both the pass degree and the Honours degree and involves courses in biology, chemistry, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences and specialised clinical pharmacy studies.
