There's an urban legend about Polo that it was played by Genghis Khan and his crusty band of ferocious Mongolians, playing the game with a severed head, smacking it around, laughing it up.
Naturally, that seems like a stretch... the real origins of Polo go back to ancient Persia, where it was a game used to train the calvary units of the military.
Since then, though, it's been carried over to Europe, where it has been firmly entrenched as an upper-class sport, fit only for gentlemen who have handlebar mustaches, call each other 'chap' and have illicit affair with each other's wives.
Those horses don't train themselves, though... they need to be coached daily by a polo groom, a strong rider with a fierce will and disposition.
I imagine there aren't so many jobs open for polo grooms, but there's a spot open in the Hunter Valley:
